Trussville's Tornado History Along the Cahaba
Trussville has weathered more than one serious tornado -- an F2 tracked 13.8 miles from near I-59 and Deerfoot Parkway through the city and into St. Clair County on November 24, 2001, and the EF4 tornado of the April 27, 2011 outbreak touched down just northeast of Trussville and crossed the Cahaba River on its way toward Georgia. The city's history goes back to Warren Truss's 1821 grist mill on that same river.
